Mini crane specialists GGR Group has helped install a 7.6 metre tall sculpture using a Unic mini crane at the Selfridges Oxford Street department store in London, UK.

The steel sculpture is of fashion designer Rick Owens and forms part of the World of Rick Owens project, a spokesperson said.

To install the sculpture, a 6 tonne capacity Unic URW-706 mini spider crane was used. The piece was installed in three sections. The torso section of the sculpture weighed 1 tonne, whilst the head weighed 175 kg and the arm weighed 500 kg.

The pieces were lifted onto a canopy over the entrance to Selfridges. The Unic URW-706 was positioned on the pavement outside, allowing it to lift the pieces to a height of 14 metres. The pieces were lifted from a transport vehicle using slings that were attached to secure lifting points built into the sculpture, a company spokesperson added.
