Doosan Construction Equipment has introduced the DX 19, a 1.9 tonne mini excavator with a maximum digging depth of 2.6 m (8.5 ft), maximum dump height of 2.7 m (8.9 ft) and maximum reach at ground level of 4.2 m (13.8 ft). Power comes from a Kubota D722 diesel developing 9.9 kW (13.3 hp) and Doosan says that the optimised hydraulic system on the machine, combined with this engine, leads to fast cycle times combined with smooth control of break-out forces that include a digging force over the bucket of 20.8 kN.

The lifting capacity and dumping height offered by the DX19 ensure that loading trucks is an easy process, while the reach at ground level reduces the need to keep repositioning when digging. An optional certified 'object handling package', which consists of a safety valve for the boom and for the arm, a hooking device and an overload warning device is also available for the DX19. The new model is towable on trailers for up to 2,000 kg (4,400 lb), with transportability further enhanced by new tie-down points.

When fully retracted, the retractable undercarriage on the DX19 allows the machine to go through narrow spaces; and, when fully expanded, it provides optimum stability for the excavator, especially when working over the side. Expansion and retraction are simple and easy via a switch on the control panel. In addition, to help dustpanning on the front, the long dozer blade significantly enhances stability at the front of the excavator, allowing the operator to make full use of the breakout forces that the machine can deliver.
