Liebherr has launched the 30 tonne capacity HS 8030 HD to complete its duty cycle HS series of crawler cranes.

The series includes eight models with lifting capacities from 30 to 200 tonnes. Serial production of the HS 8030 HD will start mid-2012.

The HS 8030 HD was particularly developed for work with hammer grab, casing oscillator and double rope material handling grab and is optimised to carry out lifting work as a service crane.

"Thanks to its compact design it has a small swing radius. The boom of the HS 8030 HD is foldable and the complete machine can be transported as one piece with a transport width of 2.5 m and a transport weight of about 32 tonnes," said a company spokesman.

The HS 8030 HD is powered by a 180 kW diesel engine. The machine has two 10 tonne free-fall winches with a maintenance-free multi-disc brake.

A tagline winch with a maximum line pull of 2 tonnes and a free-fall system, as well as additional hydraulics for direct operation of a casing oscillator, are available as an option.
