Effer used the recent Solutrans show in Lyon, France, to launch the latest (and smallest) of its Easy Power crane range, the 20 EP. The articulating “baby crane” is rated at 1.5 tonnemetres and is designed for mounting on trucks with gross vehicle weights (GVW) of under 3.5 tonnes. Maximum lifting capacity is 510 kg and outreach is up to 5.6 m. The Easy Power range now comprises 31 models offered in 300 different configurations.

French construction materials supplier Frans Bonhomme has taken delivery of 50 new Effer cranes from distributor Gibouin. Frans Bonhomme, a leading French distributor of plastic pipes and fittings for the civil works and construction industry, has a network of 250 outlets offers a range of more than 20000 products for the collection, supply and drainage of drinking, rain and waste water. The firm employs some 2000 people and realises consolidated sales in the region of Euro 500 million.

Key to Frans Bonhomme's success is its distribution model that is based on a network serving more than 100000 customers with an average of 10 deliveries a year to each. This is achieved using its own fleet of 200 delivery trucks, all equipped with an articulating crane. Fleet renewal is usually completed every five years, with purchases made on a yearly basis.

Gibouin has been selling truck mounted cranes for more than 50 years and started distributing Effer cranes in France nine years ago.
