Last night’s inaugural European Rental Awards, taking place alongside the first International Rental Exhibition in the RAI Centre, Amsterdam, saw Cramo and KDM Hire carry off the two most prestigious awards of the evening.

Cramo was awarded Rental Company of the Year (10 depots or more) and KDM hire claimed the prize for Rental Company of the Year (less then 10 depots).

Other winners included Speedy Hire’s chief executive Steve Corcoran (ERA/IRN Rental Person of the Year), Hewden (The Rental Environmental Award), Komatsu’s PC26MR-3 2,5 tonne mini excavator (Rental Product of the Year), GenSet PLC (After Sales Service Award), MVS Zeppelin (Best Rental Promotional Campaign) and Gap Plant (The Rental Safety Award – Promotion of Work Practices).

Over 470 industry leaders from 18 European countries, plus the US, Canada and Australia, saw Dutch TV presenter, talk show host and business journalist Mariska Hulscher present the awards, alongside the president of the European Rental Association and managing director of Loxam, Gerard Deprez.

Commenting on the awards, Mr Deprez praised both the quantity and quality of the entries received. “Everyone involved with the awards has been delighted with the response we have had. We have also had great backing from our sponsors, which of course is essential if we are to put on events such as this.

“But more important still has been the support the awards have had from the industry throughout Europe and both the quantity and quality of the entries we have received.
Every company shortlisted tonight can feel proud of their achievements,” he added.
