EU Public Affairs activities at ERA

In recent months, the ERA team has held meetings with several partner associations such as CECE (Committee for European Construction Equipment), FEM (European Materials Handling Federation) and Leaseeurope to discuss topics of mutual interest. One of the possibilities for cooperation is in the area of EU Public Affairs.
The ERA is currently participating in several EU stakeholder consultations – with the main one regarding the harmonisation of EU rules for road circulation of non-road mobile machinery. Through the ERA, rental companies in Europe have provided information to the European Commission that will help the lawmakers to come up with rules that will bring down barriers for movement of this type of machinery in the EU single market.
The ERA is also following developments concerning the EU machinery directive. The ERA encourages all rental companies to fill in the questionnaire that will guide the revision of the directive to improve and simplify it. The questionnaire must be completed by the end of August 2019.
