Construction of the US$ 8.7 million Shun Yu road project in Beijing China is being fast tracked following delivery of four new Dynapac rollers and a Dynapac paver to the project’s contractor. Beijing Heng Feng Municipal (BHFM) ordered the two CC 522 and a CC 142 vibratory tandem rollers, a CA 600 compaction roller and an F 182 CS tracked paver for the work on the new 8.4 km road.

The new equipment expanded BHFM’s fleet of Dynapac machines to ten. According to the company’s general manager Zhang Dianyou, BHFM opted for the larger capacity F 182 C paver because of its increased power. “We wanted to increase productivity and the first reports from site are very encouraging,” he said.

The latest additions to BHFM’s fleet are being used to construct the 16 m wide road and two 7 m wide side roads. The road’s 480 mm base course will be overlaid with two layers of asphalt - a 70 mm binder course and a 40 mm binder course.

“The Shun Yu project also includes construction of two bridges and has a very tight nine month construction phase. Tight deadlines like this are becoming more common in China, so having equipment which can increase productivity is essential,” said Mr Zhang.
