Fast tracked construction

Construction of german furniture warehouse chain ostermann's latest store in Recklinghausen has used a JCB 540-170 Loadall telescopic handler.

During the futuristically styled building's eight month construction schedule the JCB 540-170's 16,8 m lift height and 4 tonne lift capacity proved ideal for loading and unloading trucks, transporting materials across the large site and raising shuttering and reinforced steel onto the upper floors.

Equipped with a four piece telescopic boom and Q-Fit quick-change adapter, the 540-170 is powered by a 74,2 kW JCB 444 diesel engine. The engine's fuel and turbo systems are designed to improve output throughout the entire speed and load range. This allows high torque to be attained even at the lowest of speeds.

Reinforced transmission gearing and cast-iron housing mean low vibration and longer machine life, while a Powershift gear, fitted as standard, can be switched under full load, for short cycle times and fast travel speeds.
