Smart Platform Rental, based in the UK, has taken delivery of the world’s first ZED 23.2 JH truck mount from Italian manufacturer CTE.

The platform illustrates the trend for robust platforms with more than 22 m working height that can be driven with a standard car license, said CTE.

Smart is the UK’s largest provider of light truck mounted, self-drive platforms, with 60% of its fleet being CTEs.

Andy Burt, Smart managing director, said, “The new ZED 23.2 JH slots right into our equipment line-up offering a greater knuckle height and practical fly jib solution on a true sub-3.5 tonne vehicle mounted package.”

Smart has a fleet of over 100 light truck mounts with an average age of three years.

“Investment in new locations, machinery and IT over the past four years has seen the business double its income and profit” added Mr Burt. “This year we’re purchasing 20 new truck mounts, including five CTE ZED 23.2 JH’s and five CTE ZED 21.2 JH’s for growth, with the remainder as part of the company’s stringent replacement programme.”
