Gehl Company is launching in North America three of the compact, articulated loaders that Gehl Europe has been selling for the last two years.

The three models - designed and built in the USA by Gehl - are the 140, 340 and 540, powered by Yanmar Tier IV-certified engines with outputs from 23 to 47 hp (17 to 35 kW). Gehl says the loaders are designed for industries including landscapers, agriculture, local government and grounds maintenance.

"We are very excited to offer this new and innovative product line to our dealer network and customers world-wide," said Daniel Keyes, vice president, sales, marketing and customer support.

"The new Gehl articulated loaders fill a very important niche in the compact equipment market. With these new models and the Gehl dealer network to support them, Gehl Company is confident these new loaders will become a vital product for our customers and dealer network."

Gehl Europe has been selling these machines - plus two additional mid-range models - for the past two years. The company previously sold German-built Weidemann articulated loaders in Europe, but following the merger of Wacker (owner of Weidemann) and Neuson, Gehl started to develop its own range. The company is now ready to sell these machines in North America as well as Europe.

The loaders have tipping loads ranging from 1900 lb (860 kg) to more than 5100 lb (2315 kg) (when not articulated) and rated operating capacities from 950 lb (430 kg) to more than 2550 lb (1160 kg).

Gehl said the loaders are designed to "go almost anywhere and do almost anything. A heavy-duty oscillating joint offers 45-degree turning angles to the left and right and 10 degrees of oscillation in both directions for optimal stability and maneuverability."
