The annual awards are organised by the German Design Council with the intention of celebrating projects that have made pioneering contributions to international design.

The Hicon 7W, which made its debut at Bauma 2019 and was described as smart, economic and eco-friendly, is well-suited to confined urban jobsites where there are emissions restrictions.

One safety feature on the excavator is a screen on the rear of the machine that displays information to people behind it.

This latest awards adds to Hidromek’s list of accolades, which include winning the German Design Award 2018 for its HMK 640 WL wheeled loader, and getting ‘Special Mention’ in the 2017 awards for its HMK 600 MG motor grader.
