IDS GeoRadar announce new concrete inspection solutions

IDS GeoRadar has recently launched two new products, the C-thru XS and NDT Reveal.

C-thru XS is a handheld GPR scanner that uses dual polarisation and is designed to make concrete inspection hassle-free. NDT Reveal is an integrated software solution that helps with analyzing and managing subsurface data.

The company says that these new solutions aim to empower construction teams to scan concrete structures effectively, detect elements located deeper beneath the surface and make informed decisions about where to cut or drill safely.

The C-thrue XS is a smaller version of the C-thrue, which was launched in 2018. Designed for use in hard-to-reach areas, where construction professionals can easily manoeuvre the compact device, it is lightweight and ergonomic, weighing less than half a kilogram.

The dual-polarisation capability of the scanner allows users to perform comprehensive scans in one go, as it can send and receive signals in both horizontal and vertical orientations. With automatic real-time processing, the device promptly highlights targets and potential problem areas, streamlining the overall workflow and providing faster access to insights.

NDT Reveal software integrates with CAD-based software, including BricsCad and Bricsys 24/7, and helps construction teams analyse, visualise and manage the collected GPR data. The software suite provides a user-friendly interface with various visualization options, including 2D and 3D scans, which facilitates a comprehensive understanding of the scanned structures.

“Conducting a detailed inspection of concrete structures can be cumbersome and time-consuming. Many teams do not achieve the necessary precision, especially in hard-to-reach areas,” says Davide Morandi, Director Detection Product Management, at IDS GeoRadar.

“IDS GeoRadar’s C-thrue XS device simplifies the scanning process even in constrained environments while NDT Reveal provides construction teams with a comprehensive understanding of the scanned structures in both 2D and 3D. These innovations are transforming nondestructive concrete inspections, boosting productivity and safety, and enabling better-informed decisions on-site.”
