Two interesting dumpers were shown at the recent SED exhibition in the UK. On the left is Terex Construction's new 12 t site dumper – claimed by the company to be the world's largest – and which comes with the option of an enclosed cab for cooler climates. The frame, transmission, and a 97 kW Perkins engine are all new to the model, which features a 13,4 m turning radius and 30 kph top speed. Production is scheduled to begin early in 2008. Making an even bigger visual impression was Barford's prototype Big-Trax-10 (pictured right), which is based on Barford's 10 t dumper but has four independent rubber tracks. The machine, which is designed to minimise site damage, will be powered by a 94 kW Iveco engine and is expected to be in full production by September.
