UK pump rental specialists have been kept extremely busy over the past two months after serious flooding hit the Midlands of the country. Both Carrier Rental Systems (formerly Longville Group) and Selwood have rented a large number of pumps to flood-affected areas. Selwood reported renting over 500 pumps (see picture) and over 20 km of pipes and hoses to locations in the Midlands and Yorkshire, while Carrier's SLD Pumps & Power division reports supplying “significant numbers” of pumps. SLD was itself one of the victims of the extensive flooding, with its Sheffield depot being flooded, although the depot remained operational throughout the flood.
