Joe Dixon joins United Rentals

Joe Dixon, previously head of JLG’s ServicePlus division in the US, has left JLG and joined United Rentals as vice president - sales, effective on 9 June, 2008. He will “lead the company’s strategic sales and business development activities”, said United.

Mr Dixon has over 20 years experience in the rental and equipment business. Before joining JLG Industries, he was a vice president at The Home Depot, where his responsibilities included its rental operations. Prior to his Home Depot post he was a division vice president of operations and field sales for Hertz Equipment Rental Co (HERC).

Michael Kneeland, chief executive officer of United Rentals, said, "We are very pleased to welcome Joe to this important role on our senior management team. He is a seasoned industry executive with an extensive understanding of the equipment rental customer and the opportunities that exist within our marketplace.
