Italian truck mount specialist, Multitel Pagliero has cooperated with the spider manufacturer Palazzani Industrie to design and manufacture a 17 m working height tracked spider platform. The articulated boom is made by Multitel and the tracked carriage by Palazzani.

Called the SMX 170 by Multitel and the TZX 170 by Palazzani, the machine has a maximum outreach of 7.85 m, a 3600 turret rotation and a +/-600 cage rotation. The safe working load of the 1.4 by 0.7 by 1.1 m basket is 200 kg.

The SMX/TZX 170 machines are easy to transport weighing 2000 kg with a footprint of 4.47 by 0.98 m and a height of 1.99 m.

Jerry Kist Multitel's export manager said, "We have sold eleven machines since they were bought to the stand this week.... We hope to be selling 50 machines a year." Mr Kist anticipated that in the future Multitel might be able to make the complete machine.
