Volvo is using Intermat to show its ECR235E excavator, which will be launched in July.

The company said the new model is the "natural replacement" for its D series.

Volvo expects strong rental market interest in the machine, which is short radius and therefore safer from an operator point of view.

"This makes servicing easier. In fact it will be even easier for companies who want to do their own servicing to reduce costs. Any mechanic can do the servicing from ground level," said EMEA manager, excavators, Juan Jose Julian.

The excvator is one of several new exhibits on the stand, including the EW160E which is already equipped with a Stage IV engine.
