Australian rental firm Kennards Hire has acquired Perth-based rental company Belmont Hire, taking its total number of depots to 19 in Western Australia.

The financial details of the transaction have remained undisclosed.

Tony Symons, general manager at Kennards Hire said the acquisition of Belmont Hire had been high on its priority list for many years. He said, “We identified Belmont as the ideal location for expansion due to the increasingly popular commercial precinct and strong business community that has developed over recent years.

“Our latest acquisition is an area that will support and complement our total service offering, including our specialist branches such as lift & shift and concrete care, helping to fill a gap that we identified in our branch network.”

Mr Symons said the Kennards Hire business model had always been to look at potential branch sites that offered sustainable, long-term growth and provided local employment opportunities.

The company made a number of acquisitions last year, including the deal to acquire Werribee Trade Hire in December.

Kennards Hire Belmont branch is located at 149 Francisco Street, Belmont.
