The company says that the Qb2 is based on its proprietary solid-state software-defined LiDAR technology and enables the capturing and processing of data on a single device, removing the need for additional computers.

Users may also benefit from high-efficiency gains through actionable real-time 3D data adds the Germany-based manufacturer. For example in the areas of volume monitoring of bulk materials, crowd analytics, and smart infrastructure, automatically fed into their IT systems like the ERP or the cloud.

The Qb2 is said to provide real-time insights allowing companies to plan better and make data-driven decisions. The technology makes the digital supply chain a reality, taking traditional, analogue industries into the digital future and improving their market position. Due to its anonymous data collection capabilities, LiDAR data can be used to gain valuable insights into public spaces like shopping centres, airports, and train stations.

Dr. Florian Petit, co-founder of Blickfeld, says, “Launching our world-first smart LiDAR device is a major milestone as the device will revolutionise the IoT sector and we are incredibly excited about the opportunities it will provide industries and end-customers alike.

“We look forward to working with our customers to bring them a sustainable solution that will ultimately make their operations more efficient and cost-effective.”
