In January 2009, JCB will introduce a new Livelink satellite monitoring system across its full range of machines. The advanced telematics plug into the machine’s own diagnostic system and a satellite or cellular transmitter then provides machine information to customers on a secure database accessible through JCB’s own secure website.

JCB Livelink transmits information including hours worked, temperatures and pressures, as well as exact location to protect machines against theft.

Livelink is available as a retrofit through JCB’s dealer network or, from January 2009, as a factory-fitted option beginning with heavyline excavators and then extending through the JCB range.

“JCB Livelink provides our customers with an extremely high-tech system which will help them run their businesses more efficiently and profitably, by improving productivity and enhancing servicing,” said CEO Matthew Taylor.
