Loxam, Europe’s largest rental company, has acquired OBM Construction, a modular space rental business with bases in Orleans and Rochefort du Gard.

OBM is a €70 million turnover company with 180 employees that has been in existence for 40 years. Its main markets are public works, tertiary buildings and housing.

The acquisition is the latest in a series by Loxam during the past 12 months, including Dutch general rental company Workx, Danish access firm Dansk Lift and the Brazilian rental business Degraus.

Earlier this year it was also said to be in talks to buy the French and Spanish businesses of Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation.

Loxam’s revenues in 2014 were €812 million, more than €150 million ahead of its nearest European competitor.
