Manitou Americas, Inc. has opened a 70,000-square-foot (21,500 m2) training facility for its XPRT Training department at its Madison, SD location.

The manufacturer's new training facility consists of 8,100-square-foot (2500 m2) of indoor training space and a 62,000-square-foot (19,000 m2) outdoor demo area. The facility will host sales and service training courses for its Gehl, Manitou and Mustang dealer networks.

The indoor facility includes an area for welding instruction, an exhaust recovery system, and classroom space with presentation technology. The exhaust recovery system allows engine operation for hydraulic and electrical testing.

The outdoor demo area includes a 269-square-foot (82 m2) climate-controlled viewing trailer that allows attendees to view product demonstrations in all weather conditions.

The training facility has already been but to good use, with technicians from around North America, including Quebec, attended the first session in March.
