Mick Wright to head up UpRight's new Middle East operation
09 June 2009
UpRight Powered Access is launching a new Middle East Operation. Based in Bahrain it will be headed up by Mick Wright who is currently director of product support.
UPAME (UpRight Powered Access Middle East) will provide a regional centre for spare parts, product support and training for distributors and customers in the Middle East, North Africa and the Indian sub-continent. It will also maintain strategic stocks of machines and parts, to reduce lead times for all customers in the region.
Darren Kell, UpRight's chief executive said, "Mick has done an excellent job for UpRight as director of product support. His experience and excellent relationships with distributors makes Mick the ideal choice - I have every confidence that he will meet and even exceed our targets for growth in these territories."
Mr Wright said, "With the right investment, we can become the market leader in this region, which has really strong potential for future growth.
"The initial objective is to further improve product support for our distributors in this region. Having a team in Bahrain overcomes the time zone difference between here and the UK and also the cultural difference in the working week.
"But longer term, we will ensure all the ingredients are in place for UpRight to become the leading brand - an excellent sales and service network, supported by an infrastructure without rival in the Middle East."
UPAME will support dealers and rental customers in 19 states and nations: Abu Dhabi, Algeria, Bahrain, Dubai, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, India, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey and Yemen.
