Connectivity and remote controls systems supplier Motion 29 in the UK is offering Jay Electronique's new XD Series radio remote controls designed for use in Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 explosive atmospheres.

Explosions in the workplace cause on average six deaths a year in the UK and leave 387 workers with permanent disabilities, Motion 29 said. Operating machinery remotely in hazardous industrial areas enhances safety, allowing for precise manoeuvres, increased productivity and freedom of movement.

The XD system's ergonomic design allows for one-hand control, button touch sensitivity, lightweight compact transmitters and easy identification of control functions, Motion 29 said. A 55-millisecond response time is compatible with the movement speeds of the equipment, enabling quick and precise responses.

Diagnostic aid indicator lights assist with maintenance of the unit while operators can customise the device with an electronic key according to application requirements.

The transmitter is available with six or ten function buttons, each with a button and an emergency stop palm switch.
