New Doosan 14 tonner for B B Enterprises

By Lindsay Gale07 May 2014

Recently delivered by Kellands (Plant Sales) Ltd, Doosan authorised dealer for south west England, B B Enterprises’ new DX140LC-3 was first used on a delicate job in Cheltenham where it had to work in between two Grade II Listed buildings to bring down a disused office. It was then moved to demolish an extension at a former care home, where it was teamed with a smaller 7.5 tonne Doosan Solar 75V owned by the company.

The new machine is based on the standard 2.5 m (8.2 ft) undercarriage and monobloc front end but has been supplied with an optional dozer blade, the forward design of which, allied to its large working angle and strengthened components, ensure optimum stability when lifting or when working across a slope.

Factory tests have indicated that the DX140LC-3’s improved cooling efficiency and a new fan clutch with electrically controlled fan speed, together with the new engine have resulted in a fuel consumption reduction of up to 17.5%.
