New SC&RA video includes three safety training talks

SC&RA has introduced a new video with three new safety talks designed for use in separate training sessions. The 20-minute video, produced in cooperation with the Construction Safety Council, has the following sections:

• Ladder Safety, which includes tips on selecting the right ladder for the job, inspecting ladders before use, and taking basic safety precautions when using ladders in various situations

• PPE, which provides OSHA requirementsand industry best practices for a wide range of personal protective equipment designed “to send each worker home at night healthy and injury free.” The video examines hard hats, hearing protection, respirators, work gloves, personal fall arrest systems and specialized equipment for welding operations

• Personal Fall Arrest Systems demonstrates when and how to properly use the three components of a viable system – full body harness, lanyard and anchor point. Also examined are different types of system that have proved effective.
