More speakers at the World Demolition Summit (WDS) have been confirmed, covering safety, demolition in nuclear surroundings and a landmark demolition project in India.

The conference – organised by Demolition & Recycling International and KHL Group – gives a truly international perspective on the latest trends in demolition techniques as well as reports on projects, safety and waste recycling.

Shriram Matt of Indian demolition and drilling contractor Matte & Associates, will describe a project to demolish the 60 m high control tower at the Mumbai International Airport, part of a wider modernisation plan for the airport.

The nuclear component of the conference has been strengthened with the addition of Steve Jack, head of nuclear services at Squibb Group, who will discuss demolition in the nuclear environment. Steve’s presentation will complement the session by Søren Tscherning of G Tscherning on the decommissioning of nuclear facilities in Risø, Denmark.

Finally James Howard, general manager of the UK’s The Coleman Group, will outline the background and dvelopment of the company's new hazard spotting App now being used by all employees.

The conference, being held this year for the seventh time, is organised by Demolition & Recycling magazine and KHL Group and will take place at the NH Grand Krasnapolsky Hotel in Amsterdam on Friday 6 November.

The annual Demolition Awards will take place in the evening after the conference, with the shortlist for the various categories due for release very shortly.
