The online auction company for used construction and agricultural equipment IronPlanet, has appointed Nick Jones as UK Account Manager.

Mr Jones has spent 14 years with Ritchie Brothers and has a long experience of the UK construction market, alongside previous posts in the Middle East and Africa. Nick will be focusing on contractors, plant hire and rental companies in the North of England, an area he knows well.

"I'm delighted to be joining IronPlanet," said Mr Jones, "I will be looking to demonstrate to the UK building industry that there is no better place to buy and sell used construction and agricultural equipment. Although the economy has only just emerged from a recession, it is an exciting time of expansion for IronPlanet, with more and more users registering every month to take advantage of our great value and assured service. IronPlanet brings items to market quickly, and our exclusive IronClad Assurance and guaranteed inspection reports enable buyers to bid with a high degree of confidence, resulting in better auction prices for our sellers."

Tom Cornell, Managing Director of IronPlanet Europe, said: "The UK market is one of IronPlanet's key regions, and I am confident Nick will help expand our business across the country."
