Essex, UK, based Northeast Demolition UK Ltd has taken delivery of a JCB JS360 XD HRD high reach excavator that has gone straight to work on a 10 week project in Walthamstow where it is demolishing three residential tower blocks as part of a social housing regeneration project for Hill Partnerships.

The base machine was modified by Ipswich-based Kocurek Excavators to carry a 21 m (69 ft) three piece boom that can carry demolition attachments up to 2.5 tonnes in weight, with Kocurek's hydraulic boom modular joint at the boom foot. The high reach working gear can therefore be quickly swapped for a standard digging rig for lower level operations or for heavy duty applications.

The machine has also been fitted with a tilting cab, and features a full specification safety package, including FOPS cab protection, ram and track guards, additional counterweighting, dust suppression system on the boom and side impact protection. A Prolec load monitoring system provides warning when the safe digging envelope has been exceeded.
