Norwegian Rental Association appoints new director

Yngve Torkildsen has joined the Norwegian Rental Association (NRA) as director, taking over from Arne Bugge who is retiring in December.

A mechanical engineer with a degree in business economics, Mr Torkildsen, 57, is a former telecoms executive and one-time executive vice president of sales and marketing at Ericsson group.

More recently he was sales director at Micro Matic Norway AS, a company that produces control systems for lighting and heating. He has also been executive vice president at Protan AS, a roofing and specialist textiles business working in the building and construction sectors.

“We are very pleased that we have found such a good successor after Arne K Bugge, who, since its creation in 2006, has done an outstanding job for the rental association and the industry”, said Ms Nina Aasland, chairman of the NRA.

“With the hiring of Yngve Torkildsen, we are confident that the association is in the best hands to continue the work of enhancing the rental industry's reputation and position in the construction industry and the community”.

Mr Torkildsen said; “I look forward to continuing the work to strengthen the association's position in the construction industry and hope to be able to protect the members and partners in a good way.”
