Somero, Finland-based lifting and transport services company Nosto ja Kuljetus Karttunen has used one of its 150SP loader cranes, made by Italian producer of truck mounted hydraulic cranes PM, mounted on a Volvo FH540 truck, to unload concrete road barriers near Vantaa railway station. According to PM, the horizontal reach of the crane made it well-suited for the job.

Nosto ja Kuljetus Karttunen has two 150SP models in its fleet. One is equipped with an eight-section extension boom while the other has a nine-section extending boom. They were spec’d with PM’s J2416.25 fly jibs, providing a lifting height of 38.8 m and a horizontal reach up to 35 m. Reach and versatility are further extended by the six-section jib, which offers the flexibility of a 25° negative angle, said PM.

The company also has a medium-sized PM 85 SP and smaller PM 35SP in its fleet. It is supported by PM’s long-serving Finnish distributor Koivunen Oy, based in Helsinki.

PM is part of USA based boom truck manufacturer Manitex International. Under the name MAC (Manitex Articulated Crane) PM said it and Manitex are also developing machines specifically for the US market.
