Dr Nelson Ogunshakin OBE is stepping down as chief executive and president of the UK’s Association for Consultancy & Engineering (ACE) after 14 years in the role, and will be taking up the role of CEO at the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC).

He replaces current FIDIC managing director, Enrico Vink, who will be retiring.

ACE said its board had already started the process to find a replacement. In the meantime, ACE and FIDIC have agreed to a smooth transition with the exact timings of Dr Ogunshakin’s departure to be confirmed once a replacement is lined up. Dr Ogunshakin will then move to join ACE’s advisory board as its vice chair.

ACE represents the interests of professional consultancies and engineering companies operating in the social and economic infrastructure sectors.

FIDIC represents the consulting engineering industry globally. The Federation promotes the business interest of firms supplying technology-based intellectual services for the built and natural environment.
