Online auction company created by Americ and bidadoo

US-based Americ Machinery, the company that sells used machines from Japanese rental company Nikken Corp, is partnering with industrial equipment firm bidadoo Auctions to create an online equipment auction house called Quantos Auctions.

The partnership involves Americ Machinery, which is a subsidiary of Mitsubishi, together with other Mitsubishi subsidiaries Nikken Corp and NDT Corp. NDT is the used equipment division of Nikken.

The first Qauntos online auction will be held on 29 November 2012.

Bidadoo Auctions, based in Kent, Washington State, is a large online auction company specializing in industrial machinery and construction equipment. It said it was the largest seller of industrial equipment on eBay.

Howard Hawk, president and co-founder of bidadoo, said; "bidadoo is excited to expand our reach, channels, services, and offerings through our partnership with Americ Machinery. Our companies are well aligned to fuel collective growth through the development and launch of this new online auction platform - Quantos Auctions."

Takashi Dohi, president of Americ Machinery, said the partnership brought together two strong companies and brands that together have decades of equipment and auction experience; "This partnership has been formed to realize the market opportunity while delivery upon a great value proposition to our buyers and sellers: global sales without borders."

The auction site will provide buyers with detailed inspection reports and will stream video inspections of equipment. The online model means that equipment can be left at the seller's site or job and be sold directly from there. Alternatively, sellers can send equipment to a holding yard or facility to be prepared for auction.

In preparation for the first auction, America Machinery has moved a development to Kent, Washington and is working closely with bidadoo Auctions to launch the new venture.
