Panhandle Steel gets new Tadano

US crane service provider, Panhandle Steel Erectors, based in Texas, has taken delivery of a new 160 US ton (145 tonne) capacity Tadano ATF 130G-5 all terrain crane.

The ATF 130G-5 was picked up from Tadano America’s Houston facility. The new model lifts 160 US tons (145 tonnes), a 60 metre boom and a 32 m jib.

Brandon Hillard, safety director and trainer for Panhandle Steel, said, “To be able to drive the crane off the lot as opposed to picking up at the port was a huge cost saving. The other driving factor is the phenomenal Tadano service support team.”

“The load charts on this crane are just what we need when working with cell phone towers and transformers as well as providing the spindle height and lifting capacity necessary for wind turbine jobs,” Hillard added. “With the versatility of several counterweight configurations, we are able to price out our jobs so we know the exact amount of trucks to use.”

The new model joins three other Tadano cranes in the fleet, including an ATF 90G-5, an ATF 110G-5 and a ATF 220G-5.
