Patrick Rizzo, director of sales and marketing at Loxam in France, left the company at the end of September, 18 years after he first joined the company.

Mr Rizzo told IRN that he was retiring from Loxam in order to take a break and that he did not know what he would be doing in future. He said that he made the decision to leave three months ago.

Mr Rizzo, who was also a long-time member of the European Rental Association’s promotions committee, has been with Loxam through a period of growth that saw it become the largest equipment rental company in Europe.

Before joining Loxam in October 1994 he spent ten years as a regional director of Otis, the building elevator manufacturer.

One of Mr Rizzo’s final duties was to represent Loxam at the recent Europlatform conference in Edinburgh, where he gave a well-received presentation on Loxam’s strategy for social media.
