ARM 850 from PC Produzioni

Italian access and knuckle boom equipment specialist PC Produzioni is starting producing rough terrain cranes and launched a new model at SAIE 2010.

The latest model, the second in the range, is the 85 tonne capacity ARM 850. It has a 40 m boom plus fly jib. It follows a 55 tonne capacity model, the ARM 550, launched in November 2009. So far 13 units of the ARM550 have been sold, with six of them going to African nations, a further six orders destined for UAE and one unit being delivered to Italy. A third model, the 35 tonne capacity ARM 350, will follow in January 2011.

Paolo Molino, PC export manager, says the range is designed for long-term pick and carry work on large-scale construction sites for five to six years at a time. The relatively simple machines have mechanical gears to prevent overheating of oil in hot conditions.

PC Produzioni has specialized in producing access equipment for Manitou and Terex. Since 1995 the company supplied about 350 telehandler booms and chassis per year to Manitou and about 100 booms per month to Terex Genie, said Molino. In a collaboration with Palfinger, set up in 1989, PC Produzioni has also supplied up to 230 low capacity knuckle booms per month, says the company.

About 30% of PC Produzioni's production is now made up with it own branded models and this is set increase, says Molino.
