Peri’s rail climbing system (RCS) protection panels are now in-situ at the City Gateway site in Southampton.

Provider and manufacturer of formwork and scaffolding systems, Peri has provided its rail climbing system (RCS) protection panels for the City Gateway site in Southampton, UK.

City Gateway is being developed by Bouygues Development and is built by its sister company Bouygues UK. The RC Frame contractor, MJ Gallagher, appointed Peri to pre-fabricate its RCS protection panels for the project. Peri created the panels in Rugby before delivering them to the construction site.

The Peri RCS panels are being used to provide secure edge protection to site personnel over three levels. The panels ensure the slab edges on upper storey floors are completely enclosed without any gaps, providing protection from adverse weather conditions and creating a safe working environment at height.

Southampton City Gateway is a mixed-use development located on the outskirts of the city. Scheduled for completion in summer 2014, the development includes a 15-storey elliptical tower and two adjoining six-storey wings.
