Phil White has been elected as the new chair of the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA)

The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) in the UK has elected Phil White, joint managing director of Servtech, as its new chair. White replaces Chris Towne, who has completed his two-year tenure.

Under his leadership, White aims to turn the LEEA into a global entity and to develop and extend its portfolio of practical training courses. The UK-based association has more than 520 member companies worldwide.

In addition to a new chair, the LEEA has also chosen a new president. Jim Coupe takes up this honorary position. Recently retired, Coupe spent several decades working in the lifting industry, for companies that include Crosby Europe, Arbil, Felco and Parsons Chain. He has been involved in the LEEA since the 1970s and was chair from 1999 to 2001.
