The Pop-Up PUSH series of push-around scissor lifts is now in full production - with the first 150 units being delivered to a major UK hire company.

As part of its global agreement with Pop-Up Products Ltd, aerial lift manufacturer Snorkel has taken over responsibility for the design and production of Pop-Up products, including the new PUSH6, PUSH8 and PUSH10. The two companies say that they are also working together on other developments, with the aim of creating the first truly global brand in personal, low-level access solutions.

PUSH builds on the success of the Pop-Up and Pop-Up+ push-around scissor lifts, which have achieved total sales of more than 6000 units. The PUSH series retains the key features of the Pop-Up; lightweight, compact machines which are designed to deliver safety and productivity benefits over podium towers and steps, for use in interior, low level access applications.

Designed for interior work on commercial buildings, the lift capacity of 240 kg is sufficient for one person with tools. At 700 mm wide and weighing from 275 kg, the Pop-Up PUSH series is suitable for contractors working on floors with sensitive load bearings.

The PUSH improves on the Pop-Up machine in several areas: a stronger and more robust scissor stack; slide out tray for quick and easy maintenance: larger and more durable castors and auto-locking brakes as standard - no need for outriggers. A 3 m (10 ft) platform height version has been added to the range; the machines can be lowered by a simple to use, one touch emergency button; the fixed control box - keeps the operators' hands inside the guardrail during operation and there is a platform-mounted battery condition indicator.

Working with Pop-Up Products, engineers at Snorkel USA and Snorkel headquarters developed the lifts from prototype to production model.

Richard Tindale, sales and marketing director at Snorkel, said, "The state-of-the-art PUSH series is the first fruit of our agreement with Pop-Up Products, signed earlier this year.

"Working together, we are delivering a great range of push-around lifts, targeted specifically at contractors and hire companies. PUSH combines the best elements of Pop-Up with Snorkel's ethos of engineering effective, durable machines that are easy to maintain."

Nigel Woodger, managing director of Pop-Up Products said, "We are absolutely delighted with the Pop-Up PUSH series, which meets our customers' needs and helps maintain our position as the market leader in push-around scissor lifts.

"The production of PUSH demonstrates the strength of the relationship between Pop-Up and Snorkel - and there is a lot more to come from our collaboration."
