Welfare unit manufacturer and rental supplier Garic has seen a 21% increase in its year end revenue.

In the year in which Garic celebrated its 30th anniversary, the company reported revenues of £28 million ($34.5 million) – up £4.9 million (US$6 million) on the previous year.

Garic, which has depots throughout the UK, said the expansion of its Midlands and Scottish operations had increased both its presence and foothold.

The company also invested £1.5 million ($1.8 million) in the opening of a distribution centre, which is currently facilitating the supply of rental eco-products in London, for contracts such as the Thames Tideway and Defra Fleet Services emergency response teams.

Nigel Quinn, Garic’s managing director, said: “One of the main reasons I believe we’re achieving this is the differentiator between us and the rest of the industry on quality.

“Garic’s Right First Time initiative has now been operational for two years and our latest statistics show that 98.5% of products hired out do not break down.”

The company said its entire stock had to pass a 30-point check before being rented out again.

The last financial year also saw the company launch Garic Rail, a dedicated new division for the rental of specific products to rail providers.
