Ritchie Bros. sells 200 cranes in five weeks

More than 200 cranes were sold in five weeks at Ritchie Bros. Auctions auctions across North America, Europe and the Middle East. The Canada-based industrial auctioneer said a further 90 cranes are scheduled to be sold by the end of April.

Ritchie sold more than 70 rough terrain cranes, 25 all terrains, 15 carry decks, 15 crawlers, 10 conventional truck cranes, 20 hydraulic truck cranes and 15 tower cranes. They were at auctions in the USA, Canada, Dubai, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands.

The highest dollar value crane sold so far in 2012 was a 400 tonne capacity 2008 Liebherr LTM 1400-7.1 all terrain crane sold for US$ 2.1 million to an online bidder from India at a Ritchie auction in France in early March.

The company has 90 cranes to be sold by the end of April. These include more than 40 rough terrains, 15 hydraulic truck cranes and 10 all terrains.
