Sandvik Mining and Construction is to close its manufacturing facility for mobile crushers, screens and stationary feeders in Arbrå, Sweden.

The company has commenced negotiations with unions regarding the closure as the move will result in the loss of all 53 jobs at the facility.

"As a result of continued reduced demand from Sandvik's customers for mobile crushing equipment, the company's total capacity must be reduced," said a company spokesperson.

"The closure is in line with our long-term strategy for mobile crushers and screens which will see a concentration of our resources and expertise in England and Northern Ireland," confirmed the spokesperson.
