Scania targets 3000 engines a year for Doosan

Swedish manufacturer Scania has agreed to expand its engine supply agreement with South Korea's Doosan Infracore in a deal that could see it deliver over 3000 engines a year in the long term.

From 2014, Scania will not only supply engines for Doosan's articulated dump trucks (ADTs) and large wheeled loaders, but also other products within the Doosan range.

The supply agreement will include China, where Doosan sells over 20000 construction machines a year.

Andrew Choi, sourcing director at Doosan Infracore said the company had tested Scania's engines in its products and they meet its expectations for reliability, performance and fuel efficiency.

"We also appreciate Scania's modular concept. One engine platform for all emission levels is of great benefit. For instance, it helps in our design installation work and thanks to Scania's global service network, our customers also get access to excellent support," Mr Choi said.
