Sygmat, Sennebogen's dealer in France, has won the tender to supply a large rope excavator for the ongoing maintenance of the port on the island of La Reunion in the Indian Ocean.

The distributor has supplied DEAL, the local port administration, with a 6180 HD-SL, complete with three attachments.

The 180 tonne capacity crawler crane is supplied with dragline equipment to carry out twice yearly dredging of the access channel to the harbour entrance. An IEV 4000 litre clamshell bucket will be used to dredge from a pontoon or from the quay to clean the areas of the mooring boats. A hoisting crane attachment will handle stone or concrete blocks weighing between 5 and 50 tonnes to protect the banks, which are regularly damaged by the waves during cyclones.
