SGB sells UK powered access fleet to AJ Access
11 March 2009
The fleet is a mix of Genie and UpRight models, with the age varying from 10 year old models to 2007 UpRight SL30 Speed Levels. The sale excludes a very small number of rail-mounted aerials which have been sold elsewhere.
Tony Mort, managing director of AJ Access, said he was really pleased with the condition of the fleet; "The process has been made so much easier due to the professional manner in which SGB have run their business, and the high level of maintenance afforded their fleet...The general condition of the assets is excellent."
The machines are now being transported to AJ's head office in Caldicot, UK. Mr Mort said the majority of equipment is destined for overseas, "which must be good news for the UK as this will reduce numbers in what is currently an over capacity market."
Sandy Maxwell, managing director of SGB UK, issued the following statement; "This does not however change our overall product strategy. We will continue in the future to provide our customers with a total access solutions capability offering traditional scaffolding and mechanical access services - encompassing powered access, mastclimbing work platforms and suspended access and transport platforms - through our national network of SGB support centres”.
