The new JSA single axis joysick control from Sure Grip Controls targets aerial work platforms.

Sure Grip Controls Inc., the Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, subsidiary of Bailey International LLC, has developed a new joystick control designed specifically for aerial work platform (AWP) equipment.

The JSA single axis joystick incorporates a patent-pending design that is engineered to be compatible with most other single axis joystick controls to ensure compatibility across scissor and vertical lift equipment manufacturers, the company said.

The new JSA single axis joystick utilizes contactless Hall effect sensor technology that provides +/-30º of travel and a life expectancy of 4 million cycles or 20 million operations, Sure Grip said. Its ergonomic design provides outstanding operator “feel” and ease of control and is IP69K rated to protect against dirt, dust and liquid intrusion. With an operating temperature range of -40° to 365° F (-40°C to 85°C) it also meets electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards with an immunity rating of 100 V/m for protection against radio frequency (RF) exposure.

The JSA single axis joystick has multiple mounting options, minimum below-the-panel depth, and compatibility with virtually all other single axis joysticks, the company said.
