Skanska wins LA underground contract

Skanska, in a joint venture with heavy civil contractor, Traylor Brothers, has been contracted by Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority to construct the Regional Connector, an underground transitway in downtown Los Angeles, US.

The total contract value is US$ 918 million, of which Skanska’s share is US$ 574 million.

The Regional Connector project consists of the design and construction of a 3 km double track light rail transit subway along with the build of three new stations.

Construction work is already underway and is scheduled for completion in October 2020.
