Steder Group, based in the Netherlands, was contracted to relocate heavy construction machinery from Jebel Ali, Dubai to Beverwijk in the Netherlands.

The largest machines were two Hitachi excavators weighing 140 tonnes without boom or stick. They had been used on waterside dredging projects for the last few years. Duties included moving rocks and equalising sand where it had been placed by dredging vessels (hoppers).
