Crane and transport service provider Bengal Crane, based in the USA, has taken delivery of a Terex Explorer 5800 all terrain.

The model is the first of the Explorer range to be sold in the USA. It was purchased from distributor Dozier Crane.

The 5-axle AT is in the 220 tonne capacity class and it is powered by a single 405 kW Euromot IV / Tier 4 Final engine. In addition, the 70.2 tonne counterweight can be automatically rigged, the manufacturer said. It also has the IC-1 touch screen control system and a 2.85 m wide walk-through carrier cabin with air conditioning.

The first task for the new AT was at an ammonia plant.

Bryan Vigé, Bengal Crane, said, “We were looking for a crane with the latest technology, and the Explorer 5800 met that need with its cutting edge design and one engine concept. We are very pleased with the performance so far.”
