This year’s National Demolition Association (NDA) Convention in Las Vegas, USA, featured three new awards for demolition contractors in its membership.

Demolition 2017 has scaled up its former Environmental Awards to a more general Excellence in Demolition – though in keeping with their roots, the trophies for the new honours are made from 100% recycled materials.

Environmental committee chair Greg Menen presented three awards in total, in categories up to $500,000, $2 million and over $2 million respectively.

The winners were:

Envirovantage, for The Lofts at Saco Falls, a 120,000 sq ft, five-storey mill complex

American Wrecking, for its Groundwater Reliability Improvement Project deconstruction and site preparation

Ferma Corp, for the Schulyer Heim Bridge concrete demolition project.

The NDA said it received more than 20 submissions for the three categories.
